In this role you will

  • Lead and manage the internationally-based team, mentoring and guiding team members individually and with respect to collective goals.

  • Empower team members to learn, lead and grow through their experiences at Greenpeace.

  • Contribute to the further development and implementation of the global People Strategy through ongoing review of the development framework and strategies.

  • Create and maintain a Learning and development community of practice.

  • Partner with senior managers across the Greenpeace network to ensure quality learning and development initiatives for staff and volunteers.

  • Provide a global support environment for the development of staff, including professional peer support, alignment of learning programs and other initiatives/offerings, with rapid adoption of innovation,

  • Coordinate the identification of skills and competence development priorities.

  • Establish a culture within the global community of inclusion, continuous innovation, improvement and dynamic responsiveness to the emerging needs of the organisation.

  • Advise and consult stakeholders on the creation of learning programmes to support the implementation of departmental goals/strategies.

  • Oversee discovering, defining, designing, developing and deploying of global learning initiatives.

  • Work with internal partners to improve focus on staff development by supporting a relevant performance management process.

  • Manage the budget to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.

  • Strong management and team building, with experience leading and stimulating communities of practice.

  • Experience of working in multicultural environments and of managing a virtual team across the globe, with ability to build relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.

  • Proven track record in the design and delivery of staff development initiatives, with evidence of ensuring consideration of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion principles.

  • Demonstrable success in supporting implementation of management/organisational development initiatives and in driving culture and change management processes.

  • Experience and knowledge in organisational development and learning systems.

  • Excellent project management and coordination skills.

  • Experience of managing budgets and processes (preparing, presenting, monitoring).

  • Proven ability to manage key stakeholder relationships, with strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English, with the ability to provide clear and effective advice.

  • Digital literacy skills; the ability to learn and utilise our digital platforms to successfully perform the role function (familiarity with G-Suite, Slack and Zoom is an advantage)

  • Demonstrable support for and belief in the Greenpeace network core aims and values.
